Testing : a brief tutorial
|
IMATRIX media software has the ability to allow users to
create simple multiple choice assements online that are randomly generated
each time the student attempts to prove proficiency.
|
|
From the Homepage select the square blue
icon...
|
|
You should get a screen that looks something like
this:
Since there are several key points to learn to be able to navigate
quickly, we will cover each one separately.
|
|
The first thing you should notice is the "NavBar" along the top...
|
|
This allows you to change to different areas, with in the blue "testing" tool... simply click on the
area you wish to go ...
|
|
Also, note the cube and the navbuttons that appear on the left hand side...
Clicking on the image directly above these will always take you to the
homepage, and the buttons are color coded to correspond to the different
tools...
|
|
You can begin looking at a test by simply clicking on
the name of the FOLDER, and then the TEST....
|
|
|
To create a test, simply select the
button from the menu bar...
|
|
You should see the screen above in a second browser window...
|
|
Step 1: If you have
folders ALREADY created that you want to put a test into, then use the pull down to create the test inside of one of these...
[ If the user do not currently have any folders,
then select "New Folder" and there will be a 4th step process ... ]
|
|
Step 2:
Selecting the type of TEST: either Test (one chance only on each question) or Quiz
(multiple chances to answer the question).
Step 3: Name the Test.

|
[ Side Note: "Exams" ]
|
An Exam allows you to select from the tests you have already created - and
the computer will automatically, pull questions from all of them in random
order!!!
|
|
|
|
To"Create" an Exam, you simply tell the computer which
tests in your locker you would like it to pull questions from...
And how many total questions to ask...
|
|
You should get a screen that looks
something like this...
|
Simply type in you question:"Who is buried in Grant's tomb?"...
Answers go in the area below...
Be sure to mark the correct answer,
and press the  button...
|
To edit an existing question...
use the buttons at the bottom of the screen...
|
|
|
The left hand frame is RED - which correlates with the MEDIA SHOW area so users can pull
up the images & sounds they used in creating Media shows...
|
|
ORY ou can use the radial
button to load CLASSROOM shows by simply typing in the media show
number.
|
|
|
You can incorporate images/sounds/video clips from iMATRIX projects, or any valid URL as
part of the Question:

OR
...as part of the Answer.
|
|
ALL tests are
AUTOMATICALLY "SAVED" in your
virtual locker as each question is added...
|
|
To find your finished test, simply return to the 1st browser window...
Use the  option in the menu bar...
|
|
To "publish" a test, simply change the status by clicking on "Private" & "Community"...
The test & folder are AUTOMATICALLY published or un-published by
toggling this status button ...
|
|
|
The [graduation hat] on the right hand
side of each test name, allows you to view all the posted scores...
you can also set a password on each individual test.
|
But Remember...
the only thing EASIER that making a Test /
Quiz...
Is to just "Copy" and use someone
else's!!!!!
